    Incubator losing temperature

Here is an update. By moving the incubator to a warmer no draft area I got the temperature up to 98.3-99.1 locked it down and hoping for the best. Wednesday(set)/Thursday(up to temp)is hatch day. Hoping these temps will hold til hatch. Even in a room that I am keeping at 80* that is the highest...

    Incubator losing temperature

I don't know of another incubator I could borrow. Still watching to see if temp continues to rise. Checked to see if it was sealed good. Seems to be. It was near a window and now in the closet in a warmer room. I've heard that even barometric pressure and certain lights can throw off these...

    Incubator losing temperature

Today it's mid 60s and very windy.i guess it could be the draft. Also rainy off and on. Worst conditions for steady temps but I moved it to a bathroom closet with a small heater going nearby to raise the ambient temp. It is slowly gaining temp now. But the light still goes off sometimes like...

    Incubator losing temperature

HELP! I have a little giant incubator. I added a computer fan and all has been well. And now at Day 16 my temp began to drop slowly. The thermostat knob is all the way up and the temp has gone from 99.5 to now 97.3 and I can't get it to go up because there is no more adjustment on the knob. The...

Cream legbar hen X Ameraucana rooster

The ameraucana I have is a dark rust color with black and gold neck fringe.(long thin feathers around his neck). He's a tractor supply ameraucana so not a true breed. EE I guess.

Cream legbar hen X Ameraucana rooster

Ok. I was hoping to find a good job for a couple of ccl roosters that would be more productive. I guess I can use them to cross and get olive eggers anyway. Some of the isa browns I have are laying very dark brown eggs. May try crossing them too. So many possibilities. Thank you Lady of McCamley

Cream legbar hen X Ameraucana rooster

Wow. Thank y'all so much. I've got to do more studying on the barring and genetics. Is there a breed of hen that would work to breed to a ccl rooster to have sex link chicks? I'll figure this all out eventually. Just figured I would share my curiosities out loud for others too. Lol

Cream legbar hen X Ameraucana rooster

Awesome info The Moonshiner. That's great news to me just starting out. I'm working on a good bunch of laying hens with lots of colored eggs and this will all help me in the mix. Thank you so much.

Cream legbar hen X Ameraucana rooster

Ok. That answered a couple of questions yall. Thank you so much. My roosters are from TSC. I have three to chose from. Two light colored and a dark rust color(forgive the newbie terms). But they are Easter egger ameraucanas I guess coming from tsc. So. Just to clarify for me. Autosexing is from...

Cream legbar hen X Ameraucana rooster

If I cross my cream legbar hen with an ameraucana rooster I'm sure I would get good blue egg layers. Any chance they would be autosexing?

    Breeding isa browns

Awesome news! Thank you so much. I'm gonna start collecting for the incubator now! I do love the isa brown hens. They are very friendly and dead set on producing eggs. My next venture will be letting my ameraucana rooster breed my cream legbar hen. I lost my clb rooster in the bitter cold snap...
