Entire flock severely bullying each other

Yes, two windows on the run side and one window on the opposite side for air to flow through, all sealed with hardware cloth, and are above all roosts for winter ventilation. We positioned the windows like that for proper air circulation/ventilation during both seasons.

Thank you so much for your support. I feel guilty because I didn’t catch it sooner. But I had never seen them do it, so I didn’t even think that was the issue. I thought MAYBE they were doing it while roosting, because I hadn’t witnessed it myself. It wasn’t until I read that article and then...

Entire flock severely bullying each other

They haven’t had scratch since winter, I was giving it to them to keep them from being board and it didn’t help the boredom. I’ve upped their protein with kalmbach feather plume and it didn’t help and gave them diarrhea. Now I’m just adding catfood as a small treat here and there. They’ve always...

Entire flock severely bullying each other

With the coop and run combined, it’s 272sqft and they have access to both areas from sunrise to sunset and the coop is lit during the day as well so they can see. My husband and I talked about it and are going to try peepers on every bird, if it doesn’t resolve once we’re settled in our new...

Entire flock severely bullying each other

Thanks for the ideas! Before I had 22 hens and two large ducks in just the coop and original run without the extension. My previous flock got wiped when they were 9 months old in December 21’. This flock is 15 hens not including my additional 5 I am adding when I move to a bigger space. Issues...

Entire flock severely bullying each other

Run is 16x5 the coop is 16x12. Their new coop will be 12x10 and will be in a fenced pasture about 1200sqft when we move. We couldn’t make the run any bigger since we used the old foundation to build off of, I added a daytime extension to the run that is 9.9x6.5. Birds are 100% all females...

Entire flock severely bullying each other

I’m at a complete loss. (Back story- spring 21. my first flock came from TSC as chicks. I had 22 hens and 2 large pekin ducks in the same coop and same run prior to this flock and they living in harmony with no issues and we’re generally pretty friendly to humans. They were all killed by a mink...

    LOCKDOWN HUMIDITY HELP

ahhhh! So I had 7 hatch total, one never hatched and I let it sit until day 23 and still hadn’t pipped. I did have to help one hatch as she got stuck after she had zipped for 12+hours I rewetted the membrane and she popped right out!!! She’s healthy, and all are doing well! Thanks for your help...

    LOCKDOWN HUMIDITY HELP

Okay new question, since the 3 hatched, I have 3 pipped, and the bator STINKS. There’s two eggs I can’t see if they’re pipped or not. I’m afraid to open the bator and ruin anything but I’m afraid of the bad ones exploding on the chicks (I candled day 18 and everyone was alive) is it just the...

    LOCKDOWN HUMIDITY HELP

Yes I’ve had 6 out of 14 not make it to lockdown, everyone else was right where they should be. I’m not buying all the fancy gauges and whatnot, I’ve already spent plenty on two separate incubators. I’m a backyard hobby farm. I’m just needed advice for this particular model as I’ve seen a lot of...

    LOCKDOWN HUMIDITY HELP

Okay hopefully they’ll be good then :) I have another hygrometer in there stating it’s sever percent higher humidity than the already calibrated one on the machine, but I put shelf liner with holes on the bottom for when they hatch and the thermometer on the hygrometer is reading 97.9 degrees...

    LOCKDOWN HUMIDITY HELP

I’m on second day of lockdown using the Nurture Right 360, and it states the vent needs to be fully open for oxygen, however I have both pots completely full, and a wet sponge in with the eggs and it’s only reading 64%. The central humidity in the basement is 50% so I’m not sure why I’m having...

Trio Cottage Incubator- First Time Hatching

They were already transferred since my other incubator would hold temp or humidity, I didn’t have a choice 😭 I might put a humidifier in the room that eggs are in, maybe that will help!
