    humidity and hatching

    humidity was down to 43 this morning and I thought i had read needs to be 65-80 to hatch. I made quick open of lid to get water in there. Thank you floodc. 4 more should be hatching soon so hopefully it's good hatch.

    They lay on the babies and suffocate them. I've found many under Mom dead. If I'm lucky enough to be around not long after hatch, I can grab babies and put in aquarium with light and they do great.

    Taking keets from the nest

    I've learned if I dont get keets out from under Momma soon after hatch, they will suffocate. I usually use piece of card board box to kinda push Momma back and grab the keet. Momma gets very angry at this and will attack card board. Don't worry, Momma gets over it pretty quickly.

    Finally had egg hatch and a light colored one(been hoping for one) found under Mom dead. I had this issue last year with babies smothing under Mom. Does anyone else have this issue. What can I do to keep this from happening?

    Ran to pharmacy so I could get the preparation h. Soaked her again and put cream on. Seems that crust is slowly coming off.

    I soaked her bottom for 15 minutes and put her in dog crate in basement. There is crusty stuff which I'm assuming is dried poop coating this prolapse. I'm going to soak her again later and keep working at getting crust off. I'm really amazed she is still alive.

    Think worse than egg bond. I caught her and looked and looks like sack hanging out from that end. Thought maybe egg but the hole is in the middle of this sack. Couldn't feel anything like egg around that area.
