do you have any idea what type of antibiotics the vet gave? I don't think our feeds stores here sell anything so I guess I has to come from the vet. I have brought her inside and started a fire to keep her warm. Thank you

I have a Muscovy hen that isn’t well. She is an older hen, but has been healthy up until now. She has been slow and seemed to have trouble breathing the last couple days. Now she defiantly has laboured breathing, gurgling, coughing or sneezing a little bit, small amount of fluid from nostrils...

Thanks. I'm doing the best I can. As long as she keeps improving even a little I don't want to give up on her. Every time I think I should let her go she gets a little better

Ok...new development! Penguin hen's poops returned to what looks like normal chicken poops and she was actually resting lying down for the first time. Update.... Sour crop hen is back to normal and has returned to her rooster. She does try to get in the house and now begs for food. Penguin hen has improved but not sure what to do from here.... The swelling of her abdomen and vent area has gone down significantly. She eats and drinks well...

I know Kathy :-( I understand from what I've read that a positive outcome is unlikely. I don't have much experience with these types of issues and wanted to make sure I don't make the choice to cull her prematurely. She is trying so I will too :-)

Thank You! The dietary changes I was referring to are what naturally comes with the seasons. In the Summer and Fall they eat a lot of apples, grapes, berries, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers etc... anything I attempt to grown in the garden really. Now that it is cold out they don't get the buffet...
