I keep mine open all the time except in really bad snow storms. But my coop has an overhang that helps the rain stay out.

You can also freeze pans of water with blueberries or whatever then dump it out so they can peck at it as it melts.

Hi! My GLW hen got injured yesterday somehow and I’m not sure what to do (if anything) Look like the middle part of her comb got torn out. Should I just leave it? Or cut it off? Yesterday I saw another hen peck at it but haven’t noticed that today. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!
