The polish are 13 weeks and the Brahmas are 18 w. The Brahmas always take the top roost so we put that lower one in there to see if it helped (we added that recently) the window is where they end up usually though so we should probably remove that lower one. Maybe if we lower the one the Brahmas...
They are so odd !! Haha!! I think we will try removing the roosts tomorrow and see if that helps, they get way too comfortable up there and don’t want to move.
We are having a bit of a dilemma in our flock. First let me explain that we have 1 Brahma Cockerel 2 Brahma pullets and 2 polish crested pullets. The Brahmas were reared together and are very tight knit as a group. The poles are about 4 weeks younger and were raised in our brooder separately...
It’s warm enough is it bad to just leave them in our secure run? I feel like when it’s cold they will hopefully understand it’s not where they should be, has anyone done this?
That could be it, I wonder if they can’t see well. Does it hurt them to tie their head feathers back? I was wondering if I should do something about that, they def have a hard time seeing.
So our 9 week old polish pullets (hopefully though we question our golden) do not want to go into the coop at night. Our 14 week old Brahmas March right in like robots as soon as the sun is setting. The 2 polish came later and it took a few days for them to all get used to each other but now...
