    Bad moms!

Ok well I locked the coop down. Put food and water in there for the hens and then put my first hatched back under the momma hen. Everything seemed ok and the other broody hen even had an egg that had pipped. I put them all to bed and rushed out to check them in the morning. Disaster . I had...

So should I move the hens from the boxes down to the floor of the coop? Will they sit on eggs there?

    Bad moms!

Its the largest ive seen for sale. The run is 4' x 8' and the roof is about 5' tall. I can move around inside and Im a 6' 250# man. Might be because i took the picture from up on my deck far away. I can probably crawl into the coop if I wanted to(which I dont lol). Let me get a picture of my nests

    Bad moms!

Ok will the chicks just stay in the nesting box? Thats a picture of my coop . I can close the door to the run and keep the broody hens and the babies in the coop. I would have to put a waterer and food in there. The rooster and the non broody hen can sleep in the run awhile. There is a bar up...

    Bad moms!

This is my very first hatch. Ive been checking every day to see how my cochin was doing with her eggs. Yesterday I picked her up and all the eggs looked ok, but I swore I heard little peeps. I thought maybe it was a song bird. Anyway I go in today and I find a broken shell under her but no baby...

Found a secret stash. Is this normal?

Thanks. Someone said they may be grouse eggs, the description sounds spot on. 8 to 12 eggs in a small depression in undergrowth. I think the more logical answer is bantams though.both eggs look identical.i wish i had an in ubator to put them in
