Chicken. With tail down hardly walking

Thank you. Who knew almost 5 years ago I would fall in love with 6 of them. 6 more almost 4 years ago. 5 remain now. 3 older and 2 younger. I'll bury her where she started off in the run of her old coop. She seemed to have some food in her crop periodically in the mornings for a month or so...

Chicken. With tail down hardly walking

Inner ear or vitamin deficiency. So it sounds like wry neck. So I have to hand feed her and give her water in a dropper until she can eat on her own. She can't eat out of a dish right now.

Thank you. Any suggestions for administering grit by hand?

Chicken. With tail down hardly walking

Thinks it's an inner ear infection. Can't tell for sure because her ear is so small and can't see inside. That or a vitamin deficiency.

Chicken. With tail down hardly walking

I'll post a pic when I get home from work. She is just about 4. Very small bird that seems to have lost weight the last couple days. She has not laid in a while. Only 1 of 6 have laid cuz of winter. Her crop has been off and on for a month, but it did the same thing last winter. It's been...

Chicken. With tail down hardly walking

I posted a few days ago that my lady has had her tail down since it got really cold. Yesterday she was fine, but today she barely came out of the coup. She could barely walk and when she did she went in a circle one direction. She seems to have lost weight this week even though she wants like...

Chicken with tail down due to cold?

I have a small breed chicken that was doing fine until the temp went from almost 40 F to -10 F in less than 24 hours. She went from looking fine to standing with her tail down. She is eating and drinking (eating snow too) well and runs for treats as usual. No loss of appetite. It started 5 days...

    Slow Crop with Molt

I'm dealing with the same thing with my 4 year old hen. Crop is solid in the morning until I massage it. It loosens up and is loose all day. The next morning it's hard again. She is the lone molter and has been this way during her hard molts. It seems worse than usual so I'm afraid she will get...

    Too Much Baytril

She has been slow moving for at least a week (since deworming my flock) and is large and swollen (hardish) in between her legs. Poop continues to get stuck, but looks pretty normal. She hadn't been eating unless I give her meal worms or hard boiled egg until it appeared that she was near the...

    Too Much Baytril

Yes I am wanting to use it on my chicken. It's just confusing because the bottle says once a day for the 10 mg/kg

    Too Much Baytril

Hello, This post in a couple years old, but the math isn't mathing to me. ;) The Baytril 10% oral solution says 10mg enro/kg of body weight PER DAY? That seems off from the math you posted. @casportpony
