As much as I love building coops the ease of being able to buy a coop saves me a lot of time and energy. I would trust a company that is willing to back their product with a 25yr warranty.

Welcome!! I was in the same boat as you! We had no clue! We got chickens for eggs... while I care about getting eggs I like them more as pets! Super fun to watch and if handled a lot super loving!

I think you are right! When I got her I was told she was a speckled Sussex and that was obviously wrong the next guess was a Java. With no experience and only peoples guesses we settled with Java... but I was never set on what she was and then I saw the rooster pic and it really got me searching...

What I thought was a Java... May not be a Java... when I saw a picture of a rooster I about fell out of my chair because that would mean... if and when Pepper started to crow... I’d need to re home.... but their are some traits and characteristics that don’t line up...
I have the same question... but different story... no eggs as of yet, very docile and sweet Pepper is around 7-8 months old...hasn’t crowed as of yet... any thoughts ?
