5 weeks old! the comb isnt huge or red but certainly much larger than my other RIR at an older age.
Also slow feathering and the body stance kinda makes me think this may be a roo! thoughts?
I got the eggs shipped to me! supposedly listed as brahma eggs - but this chick does not look like one! No feathers on legs for one....so yes not much information to go off on unfortunately!
it looks good to me - dosent look like a blood ring!
But I would recommend sitting it upright in the incubator if you're not already.
My egg's aircell eventually stabilized but it was too late i think - stopped developing halfway :(
Its been incubating for a day upright and the aircell(?) seems to be on the pointy end now? or am i wrong and thats not the air cell?
1st 2 pics is the egg in question - 3rd pic is the other egg for reference.
Is it possible for 2nd generation hylines to produce white females?
We're looking at getting one at around 8 weeks old - but we cant tell if its a pullet or cockerel. Comb looks red and mid sized. But i see that hylines generally have floppier combs so could still be a pullet?
its the white...
The egg has been on its side!
Upright with the fat end up? Should I turn the egg? and if so, how often?
I have a cheap incubator with no brand really - put a thermometer and hygrometer inside and temp.+humidity are kept constant pretty well!
Thank you for all your help! A bit frazzled as...
yes they were shipped!! I see - the bubble aka air cell seems to move when i turn the egg though. Is that normal?
Is there anything I can do to guide the air cell back to the correct position?
