The temp decides the sex so you can know how many are going to be male or female. and you have to know the fertility ratio to know your odds. even then you don't know if everything will go right.     I have 5 turkens, 1 old english, and 12 austrolops that sleep in the trees. I used to get them down every evening, but they would just go higher. My others will go in the coops like good chickies, but those few won't budge.

    I don't know for sure, but all the pure maran eggs I saw were alot darker. There is a color scale you can use. I think Maran eggs are suposed to be 7 to 8 and those eggs look like an 4. Like I said i don't know for sure, but I would check it out. Here is the Maran club site...
