    Wrll got thrue my first winter, lost a few eggs due to 30 below zero nights, but all in all been very successful. Just get the eggs twice a day and a.couple broody hens helped out.

He has had egg eaters in the past and if not nipped in the bud the other hens will learn the bad habbit. He said cook up the cracked ones...

    Leanna, mine were about that. I had to close all the drafts to the coop, and put a light on a twelve hour timer. Also I had to turn a heat lamp on.     Well I have twelve hens,4 buff orpingtons 1 amauricana 1 red star, and six barred rocks. I had two eggs on the floor, and 4 in the boxes. 1 cracked but all the rest were good.     Well I can't get them earlier being on midnight shift. But I like that idea of cooking them and feeding them back to the hens. A little creepy though lol.

    Got my first egg toast week!!! And finally got a dozen. Had yooper coop fresh eggs for breakfast. What a long haul been waiting since June 20th.. love my little barred hens.
