    Flakey skin condition….

    She does dust bathe yes. And her preening gland looks normal now, but when I squeeze it, not much comes out. I don’t think it is operating to its full capacity, but I also think in her old age, she is starting to neglect herself a bit. It’s not very often I see her preen herself at all.

    Did you ever find out how the Cornish cross is going? Our old girl is still going strong. Took her to the vet and got some antibiotics. She still has the thickened skin around her preening gland, and I don’t think she grooms herself properly due to age. Is there a way I can help her clean herself?

    Soaked it in saline each day and cleansed with chlorhexadine. For approx 4-5 days in a row and the tissue healed over after the damaged tissue pealed away. Her foot is now perfectly healthy ☺️ thank you so much for your advice!
