Fermenting makes some nutrients more available. I bought whole organic corn for my chickens, and they wouldn't eat it. So I soaked it a couple of days, which is the beginning of the fermentation process, and then blended the softened corn in my blender and they would go CRAZY over it.

Bernadine503- The grandkids have a couple of silkie hens. They are favorites with the 2 younger kids, so tame and easy to handle, and so fluffy!

My grandkids love them as pets. They play with them constantly, then if the chickens turn out to be too noisy for their neighborhood, they give them to us, and I like it that they are such tame chickens. Kids make great chicken wranglers.
