    It is just a drop in de-icer, usually used for horse/cattle water tanks. It keeps the water just above freezing so it won't ice over

    Yeah the doors leading out on both sides latch shut and they are behind wire fencing at night. We let them out to roam when we're home during the day.

    Yeah, its more that sh'd rather not be bothered. She's fine if she's being held, but she's a little standoffish. Launch likes getting petted.

    The roof comes off the shack for cleaning and egg collection and there are doors in the wire fencing held by carabiners for duck entry/exit.

    Yeah fire risk was my major concern too. I'll have to pick up some of the high protein feed, thanks for the advice. -3 this morning before wind chill and they're both inside now(for once).
