Hiya and many many thanks for the reply! Yes I absolutely can get nettex nutri-drops, thank you for telling me about them! Local farm shop didn't have anything other than the vita vits, but I can get them online.
No no not shipping the chicks. They're getting picked up and driven from my house...
I have four wonderful bantam chicks; they're about 5 days old. One of them had twisted/splayed leg the day after it hatched, now corrected with a little 'cast'/'tape' for 36 hours; two more had pasty bum for a day or two, they now seem ok. In a few days they will be moving to a new home. How do...
Lovely people I find myself needing help once more. My 3 day old chick has been chirping *very* loudly all day. I have been trying to figure out what the issue is and she seemed ok. Not too hot, not too cold, roaming in the brooder without problems, eating and drinking ok. However half an hour...
Thank you very much!!! I'm ecstatic!!
Yes! I candled it this morning, it looks like it's not piped internally yet which is odd but there's a blob of something in the air cell which is really weird. I've been googling but I'm not sure what that could be.
Thank you!!! We had a bit of a scare with one of them last night (posted in separate thread as he had blood on his bum!) and sadly we lost one who was struggling for a long time, but pipped externally without pipping internally at all and he was then shrink wrapped... There's one remaining egg...
Thank you SurferchickinSB! I'm going to go search for pics re umbilical cords asap! Yes!! The membranes were completely dry and she was trying for such a long time. She's way more exhausted than the other two chicks at the moment, but resting so fingers crossed!
RoosterML thank you! I think I...

Thanks SurferchickinSB! No no I'm not picking anything! I'm leaving it as is! Trouble is she's not fluffing up in the incubator as humidity is still quite high at 78%, but that's better than being with other chicks in the brooder I guess...
This one had taken 24hours from the external pip...
Thanks so much guys! I'm out of my mind with worry for this chick!
Raptorchick when you say a blood bubble is it kind of like the picture I've put up? Aaaaah so people put them in the brooder with the others versus separate them? No I have no stop bleed :( I can however go to a pharmacy and...
Just had my first ever hatch tonight! Two chicks hatched within a few hours of each other. I removed them after a while as humidity was so incredibly high they couldn't fluff up. When I removed them I added a wet sponge to ensure humidity didn't crash. Regardless the third chick, that had...
Thank you Cmom!! I'm going to keep an eye on the time and intervene after I'm sure 24 hours have passed. How do you make sure humidity stays up in the incubator though, when there's other eggs that have external pips?! Terrified of doing the wrong thing and ending up drying their membranes out...
Hi Cmom and thank you so much for that!
I have this incubator:
The only air holes it's got are the little tiny hols in the yellow plastic; I don't know if you can see them? That's why I was wondering about lifting the lid a bit really! Brilliant! So they could hatch anytime within 24 hours...
Thank you so much!!
Jan I had no idea about the possible complications of helping, thank you for the warning! Sitting around doing nothing and waiting is very difficult, but I don't want to cause problems for them!!
Yes I think that's probably true re the ones from a few days ago. There's now...
