    Finn was from a later hatch in September. Jack was hatched in July. (I’ve tried to keep notes and take pictures to document.)

    The only hen that was laying blue eggs at the time was a legbar. I had a broody golden comet hen that wanted to set so I put 4 eggs under her...2 blue legbar eggs, 1 leghorn, and 1 light brown egg. Two of the chicks had a white spot on their head.     Jack is the gold and black roo. Finn is black and white. Their mother was a cream legbar and father was a black australorp. How can they have the same parents and look so different? Their sisters from the same parents are black with crests.

    This is Lucky. I need help identifying what breed he is.

    I have Plymouth Barred rock hens and also Cuckoo Maran hens. He looks most like the Cuckoo Marans...his legs are gray and pink. But I have no idea where he came from...a complete mystery.

    This is Lucky. He was found in the middle of a country road when he was just a day or two old so I have no idea what breed he is or where he came from. I'm attaching a picture of him. He was hatched about August 31, 2024.
