I live on our sheep farm in Melrose, Flinders Ranges, South Australia, we took over the family farm about 11 years ago and been working it since. 8 years ago i took an interest in chickens and decided to get some, as we already had a well designed & made double run coop my partner had made many years ago. I have had Isa Browns and grown to love having them in many ways, i free range them and trained them to follow me when i want to put them all back. We do have many predators, so i let my girls out around 10am & put them back between 4-5pm, i have had one attack made by a fox a few years ago, it murdered around 20 out of my 30 & was one of the hardest things with my animals, I've had to deal with & see. I have just recently decided to hatch my own chickens, i have bought a incubator & set up a good brooding cage inside. Hoping i can gain as much knowledge & be given as much advice from all you experienced, that i have success without too much grief. As i read all the posts my passion for these feathered friends is growing, there is so much to love about them and look forward to serving them & learning more about them in the future. Thanks to all that help me in my quest to be more experienced in chicken care & keeping, look forward to chatting with all
