    Thankyou, it’s just her and the rooster but the rooster is going to another home on Friday, then we are going to get some more hens. Thankyou for your help

    My 1 year and 2 month old Rhode Island Red hen hasn’t layed an egg in 6months! she lost one of her other hen friends, and so now it’s just her and my rooster. Why hasn’t she layed an egg in 6months? Can anyone help me please?

    We just got rid of mites that they had, she is eating and drinking well. She was broody and we feed her laying seed. I will get some vitamins for her, thankyou!

    Is my chicken sick?

    One of my Rhode Island Red hens has diarrhoea and seems very tired, she is still laying eggs though. A few months ago she had a chick but hasn’t been the same since. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong?

    I put some marbles in the water bowl and one of the other eggs that was hatching died mid way of hatching and the other eggs didn’t hatch and my momma hen abandoned the eggs and is just caring for her 2 chicks! 🐥

    Update: 2 out of 5 of my chicks have hatched and 1 is still hatching it started hatching at about 10:30 am and is still hatching it has progressed and I am just wondering if it is still alive. Here are some photos... They are on chick crumbles and I have halved the chicken coop for them.

    Congratulations on your first egg🎉! It may be possible that they do not like walking through the black curtain I front of the nesting box, I had a curtain in front of one of my old nesting boxes and I had to remove it as my hens didn’t use the box because of it. But also when my hens started...

    My other hen is laying and she has tried to lay in my broodys nest once, yes only two chickens and one coop but for most of the day they are normally out (my broody stays in). I have some photos up with my original post.
