So my hen is recovering. Long story short, I suspect she had some sort of toxin because of the speed on onset and her also fairly rapid recovery. I found her barely able to move about a week ago, and now with just gentle care she's fairly active. For more details please see the topic link below...
Threehorses,
I just brought her inside, kept her warm and helped her drink some water. I didn't do a flush or anything or vitamins. I assumed it was Marek's and was just waiting until I had time to dig a hole before culling her. Then she started getting better! Now she's not up to a normal...
After reading this, I'm thinking maybe my pullet has botulism too. I found her if a very similar posture with her beak on the ground. With just gentle care she seems to getting better. How long do I need to isolate her from the group for?

Help! I have a almost 5 month old chantecler pullet that isn't really moving. She seemed fine yesterday, but today when I came out, she went to run away from and fell over. There's not sign of external injury that I can find. There's a little bit of excrement on her feathers near the vent, but...
Southernchick,
I would recommend checking out the laws in your area and finding out if its even legal to release captive bred birds or to feed wild ones. I know in Montana, we have strict laws against it. Of course some of my neighbors feed turkeys anyways, and they regularly become roadkill...
