    Silkie pullet or roo?

I updated the post with a more direct picture of the face/comb.

    Silkie pullet or roo?

I truly hope you are right. With how pointed those saddle feathers and her neck feathers are though, you still believe Pullet? For some more background on her, she came into our flock at a werk old (all the chickens are the same age). As soon as she got there she was bossing the other chicks...

    Silkie pullet or roo?

This baby is 17 weeks 1 day old. For the longest we saw all the signs leading to pullet. All of a sudden these wattles blew up and the comb started raising (within the last 2 weeks). We've also noticed pointier hackles and saddle feathers. This is, however, my first time raising chickens...

Olive egger? And hen or roo?

Looks very much like my Sapphire Olive Egger.

    My baby is. Roo

I can't. Close quarters in the neighborhood. I will, however, make sure he goes to a good home.

    My baby is. Roo

He is 8 1/2 weeks old. We've been thinking it was a roo for about 3 weeks now though. Just his behavior and how quickly he started forming wattles.

    My baby is. Roo

Ugh! I can't keep rooms because of the laws in my city. The baby we fell in love with first has started crowing. I want to cry.

    Silky help please!

That's what I was thinking. Silkie skin and bones should all be black.

    Pullet or Cockerel

This here is Little Little. She/he is 6 weeks and 2 days old. I believe it is a bantam cochin, at least that is what I've been told. Doing my own research to try to dicypher its sex is so hard. Here are some close ups of its face. As well as a picture of her/him. I know she/he is still...

Honestly, your baby looks like our Sapphire Olive Egger.

    Silkie growth rate

They don't get a ton of treats. I'd say 90-95% of their food is the feed. I will look into the vitamins though. As for the being bullied or picked on, it's very hard to imagine. Her and the bantam cochin definitely take care of themselves.

    Silkie growth rate

I started off with 5 chickens. One died and the place I got them from replaced her. I went back and got another Silkie to befriend the bantam Cochin I already had. The Silkie was the same hatch date as my original 5. All that is to say, I feel like the silkie isn't growing at all. It seems to...

Starlight Green Eggers Progress Pics and Breed Discussion

So, I have 6 chicks with 2 being Starlight green eggers. They have been a joy and a pain in the butt at the same time. When they were younger, the yellow/brownish-red one was much more loveable. She also had VERY white wings and feathers coming in. We named her Angel. The other is more red and...

    New chicken mama here!!

Hello to everyone here in the BYC community. I'm so glad google brought me here. My wife and I have recently purchased 6 chicks. They are now 4 weeks and 4 days old. We got them from a place called Charley's Chicks. I chose them as they have 2 policies that as a first time chick owner, I really...
