BackYard Chickens - Learn How to Raise Chickens

It has happened, though it was a hen that was already broody....mostly that doesn't happen. I'd set up their brooder right in the coop with a way for the older hens to see and hear them from day one....then, when the chicks are 2-3 weeks old, put a little gate that chicks can access but hens cannot so the chicks can flow in and out of the brooder.
