    I am going into week two with six little cuties. Any tips on keeping chicks busy and happy as they grow (aside from fresh food, water, and warmth! :-)) I am a complete novice but already in love <3

    We put parakeet toys into their coop. They seem to love the mirror. Also, once we got them up to a few days and got some grit for them, we put in a shallow bowl of sand. FUNNIEST thing ever, watching them dust bathe! They were obsessed with doing that. We also gave them branches, so they could practice perching on them.
    And we are novices too...these are our first!

    Thank you so much. Great tips! These girls are SO fun. I will get some parakeet toys and a mirror. I put some branches in yesterday and they are enjoying the heck out of them. Their personalities are coming out. Too cute. :-)
