At a grocery store I saw a carton of quail eggs that said "free range organic." It was already in the fridge. I thought wouldn't it be SO funny if these could actually hatch? I bought the carton and popped them in my incubator, expecting them to be duds. But three hatched! They were adorable little Coturnix quails. Even though I tried 3 other cartons in the incubator afterwards, not one of the 36 eggs developed!

And I am SO glad you asked by the way, it's one of my favorite stories. All I did was treat them like shipped eggs, because the air sacks were probably damaged. Those were my first quails ever, 1 male and 2 females.
