Keeping me busy! We're on a "chick break" right now because we're leaving in a long vacation in two weeks, but I'm prepared to just right into action and pop some eggs into the incubator as soon as we get back! I sorta miss those old days when we got just a new batch of a few chicks every other year

How is your spring going? Adding anybody to your flock?

Spring is crazy and stressful for sure, but also inspiring!

Nice! How many eggs per day? What colors of eggs, or rather, what breeds of chickens?

5-7 eggs per day for 7 hens, I have 2 EEs, a Buff Orp, a Jersey Giant, Barred bantam cochin, Millie fleur d'uccle, Light Brahma. So from cream to dark brown to green. No white eggs allowed!

What a beautiful variety! Do you find your EEs to be good layers? I had three (two different sources, I think) and wasn't impressed with their laying, but it could have just been those two strains.

My both my EEs lay large green eggs every day.
