I took a plastic coffee container, maybe a gallon one, and cut the top half of the side out, filled with oyster shell and then nailed in a corner of the coop. Free constant access to all they want. Oyster shell is usually in the feed, but I find that supplementing is ok too.

Thanks for the tip! I have a small oyster shell container too... I’ve seen the youngest (17 week olds) eating from it.

Hi Lemon! :frow Its supposed to get really hot here to. 107 on Monday. I'm not used to it either, its incredibly hot! I hope your chicken will be alright, I think they will be what all the love and care you put into them.

With my pet Cornish X, I sprayed them lightly with water on the down under their bellies, then set them in front of a fan. It seemed to help for a moment, but now they're aimlessly running around in the sun lol! They're not the brightest ones on the farm haha! Good luck with your chickens, and you stay cool and hydrated as well. Take care. - Avery

Thanks! It's supposed to get to 111 for me on Monday... not looking forward to it, but I'm hoping the chickens will survive.

Good. Star cleaned out the coop for me! (While I was asleep , shes amazing!)
I refilled the chicken feed bin, I'm usually fine carrying 50 lbs of feed around, but its hard when its really warm out.
Currently avoiding the stuff I need to do.
