It is very important that you move the knee as much as possible and start using it right away. More motion equals better results. Mrs BY Bob has had 3 knee replacements now. It's old hat here.
Thank you all for the advice and comfort! This is her second surgery. None of us can visit her in the room though.... We sent her flowers, candies, and a couple fancy pens!
She had a terrible night last night, the pain was terrible, she felt like she would throw up, so they gave her pain meds.
Please pray that she heals up, and please pray that the doctors make the right choice and let her stay.
At home we can't give her high pain med doses, so we want them to admit her for a longer time.
Praying she heals quickly! My grandma recently had a hip replacement surgery (she stayed at our house to recover) she’s pretty tough but the first night when she tried to move she screamed. She was trying not to take any pain medicine but started taking some after that. Hope everything goes well!
Thank you all.
The PT man is trying to get everyone on board with keeping her at least another night because she just finished her PT and it consisted of walking, which made her feel sick again.
We have a big staircase in our home, (2 stories), and they haven't even worked on stairs with her yet. EDIT (She is not going home tonight)
Alright, she should be discharged today, but she just started having pain again, asking and having to pee, so she needs to make sure she has pain meds to cover things.
