No, I hatch all of my chick's in an incubator where I can keep a better eye on the progress.

Ah. I really want broody. I have 3 Cochins, and 3 jersey giants, so I am bound to have at least 1 broody.

One of the good thing's about the Bielefelder's is that you can tell the boy's from the girl's right away after they hatch, before you even move them into the brooder.

By the coloring. The female have the chipmunk look, while the boy's are lighter colored with a white or yellow dot on the head.

Oooh, thanks! What color eggs do they usually lay? I think I’m confusing the, for another breed that lays dark brown.
