Thank you! They were from my first flock, which I got in 2020. Three of those ladies got killed in a dog attack in 2021, but I had a few weeks of lots of eggs coming in! How long have you been keeping chickens?

That’s awesome you’ve been around them for so long! I’ve wanted chickens for a while, but no eggs in the grocery stores was what finally convinced my husband that we should get them. Obviously, the eggs in the grocery store came back a lot sooner than it took for my chicks to start laying eggs, but I love that we don’t buy eggs from the store anymore.

I love that as well. In fact, we have a bit too many eggs. We’ve only bought store eggs about 3 times in 5 years, and both of those times, it was because we ran out, and needed some for a cake, or something like That.

I’m excited for spring - for several reasons, I love to garden and that doesn’t happen with snow on the ground - because I’m hoping to be up to my ears in eggs. I’ve got 10 chickens (my husband doesn’t know I’m planning to get a couple more 
) and want to try several different ways of preserving them.

I have 10 and 1 rooster. Hopefully some more in the spring. Really want my Cochins to go broody!
