It just gets burned into my head, it gotten to the point where I can tell just about any car by its headlights in the dark
and the model as well, I'm also pretty good at guessing the year but I do believe @The-White-Elephant is a little better than me, but I haven't met him in person so idk if he really is

Also, how do you remember all those different types of cars!? These are the types I can remember: red, blue, yellow, orange ect. and small and big.
