It's alright. I'm feeling a bit better now that I've talked it out with myself and my family. It's hard to loose a bird, since I get so attached to these sweeties.

I have lost 3 hens over the past year, a silkie, a red sexlink, and last one was Lucy..my biggest gal of the bunch, she actually protected the other girls, because at the time I didn't have a rooster. She hung on for 2 days, I had taken her to a " farm Vet" about 2 hours from my home, where she was passed.

Since then hubby and I trapped 4 raccoons..2 we released, and 2 bit the bullet... literally.
I was just so angry. But I decided to purchase a solar animal repellent. I was very skeptical....but.. it actually works!
I haven't had a visitor since setting it up...
