Thank you very much! That is Levi, my African Grey. He is quite the character. He doesn't know what to make of the little chickies. I've only had them a little over two weeks & Monday Levi was chirping like a baby chicken. I knew that wouldn't take long.

I have no idea what following someone on the forum actually means. I know what it means on other social media platforms. But, not like this type a message board forum. I'm sure I'll learn pretty quickly. I'm guessing, I'll get a notification & maybe an email about the activity of people I follow?

No, I am not a moderator, just a member who likes to help out whenever he can! Moderators have a badge on their profiles that says "BYC Staff".
Following someone really doesn't do much at all. The amount of people you are following or the amount of followers you have doesn't affect anything...

...The one thing I've noticed is you can see the latest activity of the members you are following if you click your Username at the top right corner of your screen.


Click/Tap "News Feed".

As far as I know, I don't believe you get any notifications or any emails of their latest activity.

One thing that helped me when I first joined BYC was knowing how to adjust one's preferences.
This will minimize the amount of emails and notifications you will get. At one point, I was getting hundreds of notifications, and I didn't want to look through all of them.
