Yeah it takes a little bit to get used to but now I love it! Once you learn how to ride it its really smooth!

For me english is harder. I did a little bit of jumping but it didn't go that well. Western is my style!

Holding the reins with only 1 hand is not very suitable for me. LOL

But I still use two hands sometimes if I'm riding a really young horse.

They all do that! I guess they tell at first that you are not the boss! My instructor used to stand in the middle of the arena and my horse would go bolting towards her and I'd be like NO THIS WAY!

It depends, I usually hold my reins really loose unless we're chasing cattle.
