    Most of my birds are cold tolerant eg. have small combs & wattles (ie close to the head). One should choose breeds that suit the climate they live in.

    I have learned that humidity inside the coop must be controlled. Frost on walls means humidity is too high. Add ventilation until frost is gone.

    Occasionally frostbite happens, leave it strictly alone!
    Hello Ted, I'm planning on building an 8x12 woods coop, elevated 2'. I'm in Steamboat Springs Co and the hubby is arguing that this is a bad idea for our climate 450" of snow this year. How's your coop performing? Thanks!
