No, it's not rude at all! I prefer feminine girls. Feminine enbys, feminine girls... I'm technically neptunic but I go by lesbian because it's easier.

An enby is another word for a non-binary person (someone who has a gender that is neither boy or girl)

It's all good! It's a good thing to be curious. I think what you're describing you might be is bi. It means you like both boys and girls, and people in between.
Non-binary isn't a preference thing. I'm not a boy or a girl but somewhere in between, and I go by they/them. It still counts as lesbian if you're a girl and you like me, because I'm a feminine non-binary.
Being neptunic, it's more about their social gender.
