Hi! I like saltwater fishing from the surf. We catch a lot of bluefish and whitings, but we don’t really have a target species. I like to catch whatever I can eat.
Awesome! I like freshwater fishing, bluegills, bass, and trout mainly... pickerel are fun too! I am in Central PA so there's not many opportunities to saltwater fish, but have a couple times and liked it!
I’ve never heard of a pickerel before! We don’t have as many lakes here, so the freshwater fishing isn’t as great. I still enjoy it, but it’s less fun for me when I can’t eat what I catch. My uncle lives near Erie, PA and he will take me crappie fishing in one of his little ponds, and we would catch dinner! As you can tell, I’m a big seafood fan
Me too! In PA, we have high regulations on pickerel, I think they have to be 18+ inches. You can eat trout and bluegills too and I really like it! Saltwater fish is fun too, I have been flounder fishing in the sound in OBX!
Flounder fishing is pretty fun, but they’ve made the restrictions so strict in NC that it’s basically impossible to keep one. I think a lot of fish taste better than flounder. But they are fun to catch!
Trout are really good eating, but again; hard to come by here. You have to go out right after they stock, or they all get fished out pretty quick. We only catch one or two on a trip.
Stocking trout in PA is a huge deal, and has been for a long time! Check this out to learn a bit more if you are interested, I have even volunteered to go with the fish and boat commission!
