I see from your profile that you have some barred rock hens! That breed is very pretty! Is this your first time keeping chickens? I'm a first time chicken keeper.

How exciting! I love my chickens so much too! They beg for hugs all the time and are the sweetest little darlings. That's great your mom has kept some before! I bet it helps to have her knowledge. We are still figuring things out for the first time since none of us have owned chickens before. A woman on BYC named Azygous has helped us immensely with our chickens.

That sounds just like my girls! Several of them come by name! If I sit down with them, there will be several on my lap, one on my head or shoulder, and several at my feet.
