Four Little Chicks have been moved from the brooder in the garage to a secure area inside the outdoor run. They have spent the week getting acclimated to their new big sisters. Plan to let all 11 birds out for free-ranging on Saturday. Hoping that everychick gets along nicely and that Littles follow the Bigs into the coop Sat. night.

Lost one of the new babies. No idea what happened. She just died one day (at about 4 weeks old).

Finally! A LARGE egg from one of my 1-yr-old Orpintongs!!! So far I’ve had all small or medium in the 40-45 gram range. Today, 65 grams! Bigger than my consistent Amberlinks! (Pictured two Orpington eggs. Left, 44 grams. Right, 65 grams!)
