Hi Ivalley;
On the subject of the brown tinged feathers in your Australorps... Did you ever have a recurrence of brown feathers?
I'm researching a little known variant of the Australorp called Australbar. It is/was an autosexing bird and existed in the 1950's.
It was developed on similar lines to other autosexing breeds but utilised a brown Australorp.
Cheers.
Rob Patterson.
