Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do. 
Not sure how to update our animal list, but these are our current animals in 2015: 4 white leghorns, 1 bantam Brahma, 5 Buckeyes, 2 Delaware hens, 41 white Cornish meat birds, 1 cat, 3 dogs, 1 tortoise, 7 rabbits, and on the farm we have 18 Cornish meat birds, 11 goats, and one llama.
