Yes, that is exactly what I was thinking...aspergillus. I am not sure but they have completely healed over now, thankfully! Ah....a Mottled Houdan hen! Good. Now I will know what breed these are. SUPER GORGEOUS!!

I think they picked up a fungus that got started in their lungs and went throughout their bodies. We had torrents of rain this year that we haven't had in years. The molds and mildews were everywhere, especially where they like to dust bathe under the trees. Yes, birds and blooms sure are pretty together in the spring! Definitely get some spring pics and enter in the Calendar contest!! What kind of bird is that in your profile pic? Male or female? (sorry I am not up on my chicken breeds!) (hiding under chair) Ha! My flock is doing fantastic these days! I had some sort of mystery illness over the summer run through the flock and I nearly lost many of them! Thankfully I got them all healed over and they are doing great now.
