  • I have a few questions about your Harlequin runners. First, would you consider hatching and then shipping a single duckling? My ESA duck recently passed, so I'm wanting another, but can only have one. It would live indoors with me and go most places I go. If this isn't an option, would you sell just 1 or 2 eggs? I really need to fill this hole in my heart. Will you please help me with this?

    Thanks,
    Stacy

Can you please contact me about your ducks? It would be really awesome to hatch one of these for my next ESA. My previous ESA was a chocolate swedish that I hatched from the last egg his mama laid before she died. He passed almost 3 months ago from bone disease, so I'm eager to get another, and yours are unique and absolutely beautiful! I hope to hear from you soon!
I'm looking into runners for my son, who's poultry crazy. I had a quick question for you. I read one thread about the genetics that you are working on and you mentioned that White masks... Is white dominate then and if you cross it on another color, say buff, that you'd only get white?

    Thanks for your time,

White is recessive. Cross 2 whites, and you will always get white. Cross white and another color, and you could get white (if the non-white duck is a carrier of recessive white), but more likely you will get a lot of other mixed colors: a combination of the colored duck, and the colors that are supressed in the white duck.

Think about it this way: white ducks have all the genes necessary to make colors, they just do not express them because a double dose of the white gene makes their feathers unable to produce oigments to express those colors.
Hi, you seem to know a lot about runner color crossing. I was given runner eggs which I incubated. But I ended up with a blue drake and a chocolate duck. So, my question is what colors would they throw? Would it just be muddy? Thanks ,Linda
