Hi, they are growing out a bit more now and thought I would share some new pics to see what everyone thinks as the one's colouring is just still so off from all the others.
This is the oddball:
Here it is beside one of the known roos:
And here is the known pullet:
I originally posted this on the forum for sexing chicks, but only got 1 confusing reply before my post was hijacked by people fighting over something that had nothing to do with my post.
I am really hoping that someone here has some idea of what these little ones are:
Hi, I hatched these...
Hi, I hatched these five little ones from 6 eggs I got from a Wheaten Marans I got earlier this year. I'm having a difficult time sexing a couple of these little ones as even though I set them all on the same day, one baby hatched two days later than the others. (the first egg the Marans...
Mine did that too as they started to get older. I started giving hem treats at random times and days, now they come running every time I go near their enclosure. My girls are both over a year now, and have 4 new silkie chicks I'm raising under my Bantam RIR. My other chicken is an Ameraucana.
She opened her eyes fully about 20 mins after I let them out yesterday, and ate and drank fine all day, but she is a little lethargic and my banty was kind of picking on her, maybe she senses weakness?
Thank you very much. I put both of my girls on antibiotics yesterday.
I bought my Ameracaunas from a respected breeder near me last year at 6 weeks old. There were some hiccups in the beginning, they all came with lice, two of them turned out to be EE's(she had a couple of EE hens mixed in with her true Ameracauna's.) Patience came with an eye infection and both...
Well, unfortunately, my little girl didn't make it through the night.. My other 2 girls are doing fine(no symptoms) except Rose paces the run and keeps looking at me and chattering and little Red began to crow yesterday. I think they can't figure out why I haven't brought Patience back to them...
Well unfortunately I don't think it's worms. She has gotten worse today and I don't think she will make it through the night. I have to hold her up fer her to drink now.
I thought my 14 month old Blue Ameracauna hen was just molting, she has been losing feathers for about 4 weeks now and has been a little lethargic for that time but has been eating and drinking with my other girls. The last few days though, she has been sleeping more and more, she is separating...
So, the entomologist got back to me. His professional opinion.............it's a book louse. Thank you to those who already told me that, lol. It was just so hard to tell since they are so darn small.
Now THAT looks most like my bugs. Do they occur in Canada? Know what to do to get rid of them in a house? Even though I haven't seen them in a few days, I'd like to make sure they don't come back. I am still waiting on a reply from the entomologist I contacted, so I should have an answer from...
