Does the thermostat turn the power supply on and off to the whole thing (fan and peltier plate)?? I feel like if the fan wasn't running, it might not kick back on soon enough. I guess the thermostat probe or whatever it has at egg level would be ok. But if the eggs are lower(cool air sinks)...
I currently have 8 guinea... Too many for my small nighttime fortknox coop. They upset the harmony, so they've been booted out into solitude, kennel confinement. I want to keep a few, but I plan to sell 4-5. Not sure if they're male or female. I know 2 are male because they we're mating my...
New Gutters and small drain ditches are my friend!! Springtime, I will be sowing grass and ensuring it thrives with some wire covered frames I saw on here somewhere(so the flock doesn't destroy it 2 mins after planting) Might throw some sand and gravel in places that are to heavily used for...
Or, maybe that paper bedding, like the stuff people use for ferrets. I know people with chickens usually go with the cheap wood shavings cause they poop a ton of times EVERYWHERE, and fling it everywhere.

I got mixed chicks to start with, kept all the roos and hens. One year later (plus 3 more hens) Hatched out a mixture of eggs just to try to get a few more layers, and I have no idea which rooster it was doing all the mating, and can't remember which hens the eggs were from:oops:. I'll have to...
Oh, very nice! It's been my experience... I don't have any. :D I seem to find 100 ways NOT to do things. But it makes it that much easier to try again.
I know the topic was originally chicken, but I have to say, I've raised the Cornish cross chickens, butchered past the recommended 6-8weeks. They were good, I just bake them wrapped in foil. BUUUUUT, I prefer my muscovy duck meat, also baked(we usually get 2 meals from one male bird, female...
Looks female to me for the age, but I'm no expert. You'll know for sure in not too much more time. It'll either stay about the same size it is now, or practically double.
