So... Prince did go to auction a few weeks ago and I was pleased with my take of the sale. And a surprise! My "barred rock" mix lays a green egg. I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't caught her in the act. The other two eggs are from Delawares. @Overo Mare @FunClucks

Hello all! The promised update to @Overo Mare and @FunClucks: Only one male out of the seven. The white one on the lower roost, Prince. Two are not pictured, because they are Delawares and their gender was obvious. Thanks for your help!

So, after announcing his male-ness Sunday, "Prince" hasn't crowded again. At least I haven't heard him. Maybe he will be a nice, quiet protector, lol. 😂 I can hope, right?

So true! Unless I just didn't catch him in the act. I'm toying with the idea of keeping him. My neighbor heard him, but she has her windows open and she was already awake (only about 40ft from him to her window). She pointed out that he isn't very loud. And so far he only crows a couple of...

@Overo Mare and @ FunClucks I took the boys to the auction yesterday, including the white one on the lower perch in the pic above. This morning, the white one on the upper perch was crowing. :(

If my track record holds, I'll get back from dropping off the 7 definite cockerels at the auction, only to have a couple at home crowing to each other how they fooled me!

Will do! The white one on the lower roost has been crowing. I have other cockerels, not pictured, so 7 are going to auction this Saturday. I will hang on to the 4 on the higher roost and see if any are slower to develop males and post here for the updates!

Thank you! Unfortunately, I didn't take pics when they were 7-8 weeks old.

Yes, it's the same in the first and third pic. I just took this pic, hopefully it shows what you wanted to see. Unfortunately the sun isn't on them.

These are Easter eggers hatched 5 months ago. They tend to be the most difficult for me to gender. Thank you in advance for your feedback!

Possibly a cockerel among the pullets?

I believe they are all pullets, too!

I purchased eggs on eBay from Illinois. And thank you for the link!

    Gender confirmation, please!

My first time with Bielefelders. I understand how to sex them as chicks. These 5 are 2 and a half months old. I believe the two lighter ones are males, the other 3 girls. Am I correct?

    Thank you both!

    Which are auction bound?

That would be great! I was thinking the legs look awfully thick on all 3. I would love to keep as many females as possible!

I hatched these late May from barnyard mix eggs; they are 3 and a half months old. I hope to get some feedback on gender. Thank you in advance for your time ☺️
