Sebastopol Geese Thread !!!!!!!!!! SHOW YOUR PICS !!!!!!!!!!

Hi! I'm hoping someone can help me with what color these will be? They came from a mixed color flock and I was told they are both a color other than white but I suspect the yellow one will be solid white. The light one has blue eyes and the darker one doesn't.

Sebastopol geese - selecting breeding stock, color genetics, and color improvement

I finally got my first Sebastopol geese today and I love them already. Is it possible to tell color by their down? The light one has blue eyes and a tawny color that's very light on its back. I'm having a hard time telling what color the darker ones eyes are. They came from a mixed color flock.

    Brahma Breeders thread

I saw Big Medicine's response and my observations have been the same. I thought I'd share a picture to illustrate the differences in overall appearance at only 2 days old. The two in front are males - notice the wider heads and heavy brows than the females in back. My females are more delicate...

I'll sell started birds once I do but probably won't sell eggs or chicks soon. I will be referring back to this thread for...

    Looking for lemon pyle brahma

Well, I figured out which girl is throwing the white/splash ones - my Barred rock hen! Her eggs look exactly like the Brahma eggs. Sigh. Well, at least I solved a mystery and know that all my Lemons are throwing their own color spectrum. lol So, I will be in touch after I've hatched a couple...

    Brahma Breeders thread

Wood ash can be great for keeping pests out of the coop. I keep a pan of it in the brooder for the babies to bathe in and they love it. Worth a try if you have a fireplace and ashes all winter. :)

    Brahma Breeders thread

Of all the breeds I've raised, Brahma babies are my favorite. Sometimes their little brows make them look so serious despite their sweetness. :)

Fermenting feed is a great idea. It does take a bit more effort and you'll need food grade, lidded buckets or large glass jars with lids. It's great to start chicks on it as well. For another option for a sustainable, dual purpose breed that matures faster than Brahma, have you considered...

    Looking for lemon pyle brahma

No worries! I'll refer back to this thread when I have some for sale/trade. I need to hatch out more to sort out which hen is throwing the various shades and I'm really wanting to have a couple more roos so it will be some time before I can part with these. I'd hate to sell eggs and have someone...
