Not sure how the orientals are but my BR's can out fly the hawks most times, I lost 7 out of 50 young birds last year, the main time they are at risk from hawks, is when there on the roof of the loft or standing around somewere, I found that when they are finished flying, get them in right away...
I use an aquarium heater for my bowls. i give water in a dog 1 gal holding tank.. heater works fine, plus i do use an outdoor ext. cord.. no issues so far..

your best bet is NE pigeon supply, it'll make it in a few days.. if you wait too long it will be a mute point.. Yes its expensive, but if it works you save some pigeons, they will be carriers of it , that is what i have heard. but its better than waiting for them all to die or try to save a...
I have had birds stay from 5 days, settled and trap trained... I even had one escape from the shipping box on arrival.. it even stayed right here... i just let out my kit and they gathered him up.. he just wanted to stay out.. but in a couple days it trapped..

well i think in hind site, i used sheet tin on the floors of my loft some twenty + years ago,, it was a walkin, so the area was easy to clean with a hoe, and a spade scraper.. then just vacuumed it up.. threw into compost pile.. I think i'll price that out and see what the cost would be,, save...

i have a coop that is 4x6x40"x"48, it can house 10 pair snugly.. and a kit box that is one half the size 2x3x30"x38" and it holds 20 birds.. i fly every day, twice a day.. and once a week give them freedom to do what ever.. hang out, eat grass , free time...

take a small garbage can cut a hole in the side,,,,,,,,, and put the bird in there, use a vacuums hose from the tailpipe of your car/truck and run it for few mins on idle..put a few holes in the top and make the hose long enough so it dont burn them from heated exhaust.. a few mins there gone...
