Update: at almost 7 months, bird #1 has laid an egg (on the right - brown, not blue/green 😭)! Still waiting on the other two to do something, but since no obvious signs of crowing/large comb I'm guessing the other two are both pullets as well - but we'll see!
Here's an updated picture on two of them - any more ideas? I couldn't get a good picture of the third:

Bird 3 from the original pictures:
They are about 23 weeks old. Still haven't heard anyone crow and no eggs.
So for an update after a week: her foot swelling is a bit worse and the scab has not progressed. The picture doesn't look too bad but the swelling is starting to show a little between her toes when looking from the top. I'm continuing to treat/wrap her foot every other day and switched to...
Any additional thoughts? I brought her in after leaving the wrap with PRID and triple antibiotic for 2 days. I soaked her feet for about 15 minutes and took a look. I was able to pull out a small bit of waxy "plug" and push out some pus.
Her foot is a good bit more swollen now than before but...
Hello everyone! I have three girls that have bumblefoot (or the starts of it). Two are doing alright but I have one that has pretty severe swelling with just a dot on her foot.
This is my first time treating bumblefoot and I'm hoping to get some help/insight on next best steps! I forgot to...
Well I'll be! Obviously I wouldn't be mad but I was kind of hoping for at least one rooster :lol:
I've heard they tend to be late layers, so I guess I'll just continue the wait and update soon!
Really?? I was really thinking Spaz (#1) was for sure a cockerel, but that would be a neat trick if all three ended up pullets! I got them all straight run and figured I would have at least one roo. Here's a picture of Spaz from a month ago, same redness to the comb for reference.
So I've been patiently waiting for a crow or an egg, but I have my suspicions and want to see what everyone thinks! I got these three EEs from Tractor Supply about 13-14 weeks ago. I have one that I'm 99% sure is a cockerel (my little cross-beak baby), but the other two are toss-ups. One I'm...
Honestly I looked over her today and I see nothing that looks out of the ordinary. The spot under her foot smoothed out a little and looks pretty similar to her other foot save for a slightly discolored spot on the pad near the middle toe (which can actually be seen in the photo I posted). I...
The roost is only about 2 ft high from the ground from where they sleep at night. They have some perch spots out in the run, too, which is about the same height. However, we do have some roots that stick up from the ground that we have been trying to eliminate after clearing a bunch of...
Hello! I'm hoping to get some confirmation in my thoughts and guidance. I got home for my lunch break and found one of my girls was limping pretty badly. She's about 6 months old and a barred rock (currently laying). My husband and I grabbed her to inspect her foot and found she has a fleshy...
This sounds basically identical to what we were going through with our barred rock. I will say that she's still off and on got some weird stuff happening with her eggs (almost every egg is a double yolker except for maybe one or two). Occasionally we will still get a random soft shelled egg or...
Hopefully the final update as long as things don't go backwards! Our problem pullet was in and out of the nesting boxes all afternoon and we got this big ole 2 oz egg from her! Only one egg and shell is perfect! We ordered some flaked oyster shell that should be here Sunday to hopefully continue...
We have some progress! After two days of calcium citrate pills to my problem girl and some eggs shells that I crushed up and gave to all of them, we made it through the night without any no-shell eggs under the roost! My barred rock having the issues with laying two eggs was perky all day...
Yes that's been kind of my concern.. The only thing I can think of that has changed recently is I had them on Purina Layena Pearls for about 2 weeks after the first one laid an egg (switched from grower crumbles) and they did really well on that. Now that food was starting to run out so we did a...
I had been searching for a week or so for a flaked oyster shell that isn't $15/lb. I finally found a source but it's not local and I had to order it. In the mean-time I put out some crushed egg shells out for them as a quick alternative and a few snacked on it this morning. I'll be giving the...
Okay I'm at a loss.. We had one (maybe two) other pullets aside from this one with the double laying issue (which she did again last night). The other two were laying regularly with nice hard shells, and now all of a sudden they're laying soft shelled eggs in the middle of the night, too. I...
Thanks, I hope that's all it is. You can tell this is taking a toll on her and by the evening she just looks miserable. Poor bird. I'm picking up the calcium today on my lunch break at work. My local drug store has a 500mg version of it. Does it matter what time of day it's given to her?
I have a 20 week old barred rock pullet that yesterday afternoon was laying in the run, puffed up, eyes closed and not wanting to move. I brought her inside, gave her a good warm soak and when picking her up out of the water she passed a soft shelled egg and what looked to be a completely...
