I just keep them piled up in the box, inside on the kitchen counter. They don't need any light to ripen. They create ethylene gas that speeds up ripening, and the box sort of traps the gas. Works for me.
When I was a little kid cracking black walnuts with a hammer and picking out the meats with a nail was a winter day project for me and my grandpa. Sit in the cellar and crack walnuts with maybe a sweet potato or two cooking on top of the wood burning stove. Good memory.
The walnuts eventually...
You are very welcome!
I did a little more brush painting around some electrical stuff I masked off before I used the spray painter. Had to remove some screws to pull a few things away. I'll put them back in place when the paint dries. Now it's just going to be a little painting at a time, here...
I got all the window trim primed except for the back two. Too high for the step ladder and I didn't feel up to climbing up the extension ladder today.
The existing window trim color is dark gray and I'm painting them white. The rest of the trim is dark brown. This is the main house color...
I pulled 15 pounds of tomatoes from the garden this morning. I'm not sure what variety they are because they're from saved seeds.

Most of these are from six plants...

I got the chickens all locked up early in their secure run. The feeder was about empty so I dumped what was left into a couple of half gallon yogurt tubs and soaked it with water. That treat got them all to come into the secure run so I could shut them in. Refilled the waterer too.
The yogurt...
It feels pretty good getting that part of it done. Maybe I'll finish the trim this weekend, other than the really high stuff I'll leave for my son. It's all paintbrush work from here on out.
What do put inside the stuffed tomatoes and peppers?
I can put the airless paint sprayer away now. I went up and down the ladder all around the house and finished painting the siding. Trim next. Someday. LOL
I'll probably remove all the masking from the windows and skirting today if I have the energy.
Looks great! Do you leave the skins on the tomatoes? Can you double stack pints in that big pot in the background of the picture?
Salsa is one of the major food groups, fer sure! I put a couple of tablespoons on my morning eggs, so I'm going to need around 50 pints for the coming year, another...
