How messy are doves and pigeons?

I understand what you mean, I'm currently looking into buying diamond doves for my aviary as I think they are amazing. I don't really know much about doves and thier homing ability but live in an area with many Barbary doves flying about and I think they are amazing.

How messy are doves and pigeons?

I currently have some rollers and some beautifully coloured pigeons. They all seem to home quite well despite being non racers. They normally just sit on the local houses, fly in circles over the garden and wonder around the garden. They do sometimes have a little fly about and disappear for an...

    Parakeets

Most birds can be weaned onto pellets but it is easier to wean a younger bird than an older bird.

    Parakeets

I personally breed small parrots. I wouldn't recommend it as getting healthy chicks and birds requires a lot of time, effort and money. I do believe that parakeets are amazing little creatures, I did breed them but stopped because most people buy them and just ignore them because they don't act...

Amazing pictures. I personally have only recently got my pigeons (despite wanting them for a while). Two of my birds have paired up and made a nest but i was wondering, when could I expect eggs? I am really excited for them. I havn't seen them mate (as i'm not home in the daytime during the...

CAUTION! Pics may disturb. Abscess on my rooster?

I can't help but from what i've seen others say there are three options 1) Get him to the vets 2) Put him down 3) cut feathers around the abscess' and DIY operation if possible - I don't know if its possible but if it is someone will be around in the next 24hrs to tell you it is and how to do it.

    Pigeons egg

Normally they hatch in pairs and so keep each other warm but as a single chick in winter it must have been freezing.

    Broody not leaving the nest.

You shouldn't force the hen off the nest the from 19th onwards as this is classed as lockdown. Lockdown is when the end eats alot and relieved herself before sitting on the eggs until they hatch without moving.this is because she needs to conserve the humidity levels in order for the chicks to...
